New Project Launched: Museomics

We have launched a new project exploring the potential of historical wet collections. By combining heritage specimens with modern genomic tools, Museomics opens new perspectives for biodiversity research and scientific discovery.

We are excited to introduce our new project “Museomics: Revisiting Historical Wet Collection Specimens.”

This initiative explores the untapped potential of historical wet collections and how modern genomic technologies can reveal new insights from preserved specimens. By combining heritage materials with cutting-edge molecular methods, the project opens new perspectives for biodiversity research, conservation, and scientific discovery.

By revisiting archived specimens, we aim to bridge past and present — unlocking biological information that has remained hidden for decades and contributing to a deeper understanding of infectious diseases and host–pathogen interactions.

This project reflects our group’s commitment to innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the responsible use of valuable museum collections.
