Welcome to the Team: Xao La Lê & Bettina Baumann!
We’re excited to welcome Xao La Lê and Bettina Baumann to the lab. Xao investigates gene transfer mechanisms in Chlamydia suis, while Bettina focuses on the detection of Chlamydia pecorum and Chlamydia abortus in ruminant abortion cases in Switzerland.
Xao La Lê
Xao La Lê joins the lab for her Bachelor’s thesis project focusing on gene transfer mechanisms in Chlamydia suis. Her work investigates the expression profiles of genes involved in horizontal gene transfer, with particular attention to inclusion fusion and homologous recombination.
Bettina Baumann
Bettina Baumann is starting her doctoral thesis on the detection of Chlamydia pecorum and Chlamydia abortus in ruminant abortion cases from Switzerland. Her research aims to improve our understanding of the role these pathogens play in animal health.
