ChlamHealth at the Joint CBRS–DCW Meeting 2025
The ChlamHealth Group participated in the Joint 12th Biennial Meeting of the Chlamydia Basic Research Society (CBRS) and the 21st German Chlamydia Workshop (DCW) in Berlin — a key international gathering for the Chlamydiaresearch community.
The meeting brought together researchers from around the world for three days of scientific exchange, presentations, and discussions at the beautiful Harnack-Haus. Our team contributed several talks and posters covering diverse aspects of Chlamydia biology, antimicrobial resistance, epidemiology, and co-infections.
We were delighted to reconnect with colleagues, gain new perspectives, and share our ongoing work with the community.
Scientific Contributions from ChlamHealth
-
Magdalena de Arriba presented a lightning talk and poster showcasing striking fluorescence images of Chlamydia suis and C. abortus.
-
Hanna Marti and Magdalena de Arriba completed their presentations on the first day and engaged in inspiring discussions throughout the meeting.
-
Nicole Borel presented the master’s thesis work of Nadja Fässler, who investigated co-infections of C. suis and C. pecorum and assessed whether tetracycline resistance transfers between these species — with the reassuring finding that it does not.
Across all sessions, the meeting highlighted the breadth of current research in the Chlamydia field — from molecular biology to clinical and epidemiological insights.
A Week Full of Inspiration and New Ideas
Beyond the scientific program, the meeting offered valuable networking opportunities, excellent discussions, and a chance to strengthen existing collaborations and initiate new ones.
We returned to the lab inspired, energized, and full of new ideas for future projects.
A heartfelt thank-you to the organizers and the community for creating such a motivating and collaborative space.
We’re already looking forward to the next Joint CBRS–DCW meeting!
